CT writer lauded by Lambeth
MARGARET DUGGAN has been awarded a Lambeth MA for her work on the Church Times. Lambeth Palace announced the award this week, “in recognition of her 45 years of outstanding and knowledgeable service to the Anglican Church through the columns of the Church Times”. Mrs Duggan began reviewing and reporting for the paper in 1963. She quickly became a regular columnist, before serving for a spell as editor of the Mothers’ Union magazine Home and Family. She continues to produce the weekly Real Life page. Other awards are to be presented to Margaret Barker for her work on the Jerusalem Temple (DD); Professor Terence Copley, for his contribution to religious education (DD); the Very Revd John Drury, in recognition of his championing of religious art, liturgy, and music in Cambridge and Oxford (DD); Charles (Bill) Ives, for his contribution to church music (DMus); Christine Morgan, for her contribution to religious broadcasting (MA); Canon Paul Oestreicher, for his ecumenical commitment to peace (DD); Canon David Scott, for his poetry and teaching (DLitt); the Revd Barry Till, for his work as a historian (DD); and Canon Andrew Wheeler, for his study of African Christianity (DD). |
