‘Caring’ teen dies after fall

by Ed Beavan

THE Revd Simon Boxall, Team Vicar at the Open Gateway Community Church, Thamesmead, and his family have paid tribute to his 19-year-old daughter Rosimeiri, who died after falling from a third-floor window on Monday

The teenager was adopted by Mr Boxall and his wife Rachel while he served as a priest in Brazil for 22 years before moving to the Southwark diocese in 2005. In a statement, the family said: “She was a loving, caring person who brought frequently remembered times of fun and laughter to the family and who was much loved by her three nieces. . . She was also a great friend.” The family appreciated all that the police were doing, and asked for their privacy to be respected.

It is believed that the teenager may have jumped from the window of flats in Blackheath to escape bullies. After the death, two girls aged 13 and 17 were arrested and later released on bail, pending further inquiries. A police spokesman said the death was being treated as suspicious, but it was not a murder inquiry.
