Your answers Who is entitled by law to see the annual accounts and PCC minutes? Do those on the church electoral roll have a right to see them? [Answers, 20 June] It should be noted that the Charity Commission has ruled that all accounts of “associated exempt charities” must be published with the PCC accounts and made available on request. Copies of all such church accounts must be provided by any trustee (which means any PCC member) within two months of a written request to do so. See Charities Act 1993, Section 47 (2). Any person refusing to provide a copy of is guilty of an offence under Section 49 of the Charities Act 1993 and liable to a fine on summary conviction.
